Eric Teplitz / Mark Hentemann

How does someone land their dream job?

In this episode of The Person You Want to Be, Emmy-nominated writer/producer Mark Hentemann (Late Show with David Letterman, Family Guy) shares that the path to success in his case had a very long runway.

Luck certainly played its part, but luck can strike in both positive and negative ways (he should know, having literally been struck by lightning as a teenager!).

In relaying his story, Mark shares how a book he happened upon in his youth helped him develop the mindset of a “tough-minded optimist” and emphasizes the importance of his having spent years and countless hours honing his craft.
